Incredibles Theory: Did Tricycle Kid become Marvel's Agent Coulson?

In honor of Avengers: Endgame, I thought that I would dive into a theory that I've been sitting on since the summer. Can the Pixar film The Incredibes be linked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Many would say no but I personally think that one character from The Incredibles can forge this link. I'm talking about none other, than Rusty McAllister AKA Tricycle Kid from the original Incredibles. My theory is that Rusty McAllister eventually became Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Phil Coulson.

Background Check

During the course of The Incredibles, we see Rusty a total of three times. The first time is when he sees Mr. Incredible come home from work and lift his car into the air in rage from breaking the window. The second time he responds to Mr. Incredible's question "What are you waitng for?" with "I dunno. Something amazing, I guess". Finally, the last time, he sees the final confrontation with Syndrome and exclaims "That was totally wicked!" after Violet uses her force field ability to shield them from the exploding plane.

How does this prove that this child is the beloved agent with the first name of Phil? Well, Coulson's enthusiasm for superheroes, mainly Steve Rogers' Captain America, could have emerged from some childhood event such as seeing a super powered family take on a villain. It's also seen in The Incredibles that the supers are under the watch of the NSA similar to Marvel's S. H. I. E. L. D.  In Incredibles 2, NSA is disbanded after the Parr's save the city of Metroville from the Underminer. It could be possible that the NSA could've dissolved into S. H. I. E. L. D. and later on recruited Rsuty into their program in order to protect the secrets of supers. The people of S. H. I. E. L. D. have a track record of recruiting people who want to make the world safer. One of their most famous recruits joins because "I don't want to kill anyone. I don't like bullies." Shortly after this quote occurs, scrawny little Steven Rogers becomes Captain America. Rusty could have taken the same route as Steve and wanted to join the cause to help make a difference.

Appearances Are Everything

Even though we have no idea what age Rusty is in the timeline of The Incredibles, it is possible to have an age range. Based on how he looks, one can assume that Rusty is about four to five years old. Of course, no one knows what they'll look like as an adult when they're five years old. But, if you compare Rusty and Phil side-by-side, they look eerily similar. It's all in their faces. Both Rusty and Phil share oval face structures, brown hair and eyes. If you think about how aging happens and how baby fat disappears over time, the connection is even more visible.

Time Is Of The Essence

It has been confirmed that The Incredibles is set in the 1960's. The props and costumes throughout the film all point to this being true. According to the Marvel wiki page, Phil Coulson was born in 1964. This would place his birth in the same decade as the time frame of The Incredibles. However, what if this wasn't the case. What if Coulson claims this was his birth year because it's the year he witnessed the Parr's family fight against Syndrome and began dedicating his life to protecting superheros. If he was born in 1960, then it would make him approximately five in 1964.

Another thing we have to take into account is Rusty's tricycle.  It also makes sense that someone would have such a strong attachment to something as specific as a red and silver vehicle. Rusty's tricycle is red and silver and Coulson's beloved car Lola, a 1962 Chevrolet Convertible, has a red and silver finish. Because he saw this incredible (pun fully intended) event, he most likely would never forget it. This day and what he was doing on it, would become really special to him. So where does this lead us?

Conclusion:
Could this be true though? Unfortunately, it can't. It does seem extremely likely that this kid would end up dreaming of protecting supers. But, most likely he would keep his name the same instead of making the change from Rusty McAllister to Phil Coulson. Even though both Pixar and Marvel are now owned by Disney, they are different companies that produce films in different styles. It may not be true but it is a lot of fun to theorize that this little kid who witnessed a family defeat a super villain eventually became a government agent who devoted his life to keeping superheros safe.
